    Paintball news can be pretty frustrating.  Rather than focus on the pros of the sport, most media coverage is still based on the negative - primarily acts of vandalism and mischief.  Whenever I go to a news reader and search for paintball the primary stories are not about the results of tournaments, the camaraderie of teams or individual experiences playing the game, it's about stupid people messing around and causing problems.  I'd count how many negative stories come for every positive one, but I'm sure I'd get depressed doing the math.     Whether .50 caliber paintballs and paintball gear will catch on remains to be seen, but another manufacturer has bought into the idea.  Kingman has announced the Spyder .50 line of equipment.  It appears that they're planning on releasing similar guns to what they already have, just in the .50 caliber format. I'm still undecided whether I think the .50 caliber format is a good idea for paintball or if its just an attempt by manufacturers to get existing players to spend more money on new equipment.  Either way, I'm very interested to see which other companies announce new .50 caliber gear…

    After the recent 2009 US Paintball League event in Las Vegas, the NPPL Rules Committee will be reviewing rule 23.07 penalties for Illegal Markers. The current rule is being changed as several teams were given a penalty for markers that fired multiple balls per trigger pull as a result of mechanical trigger bounce and NOT illegal electronic program modes. We are also going to create a standard procedure for the way that guns are checked for bounce.     I have a red and black Proto PMR. I have a 14 inch two piece barrel; Freak back and an all American front. I have the all American back as well. The upgrades on this gun include; red Virtue laser eyes, spring loaded ball detents, a tech T L7 bolt which performs beautifully, a Custom Products asa on/off, and a Silk trigger. I have a Velocity hopper which has the Select Force chip installed and a 68/4500 psi Crossfire stubby tank with a black Proto tank cover.     Two mods for the price of one. The first was a rear stop to decrease the amount of rearward travel past the break point. This is a handy mod as it then requires less finger movement to release the trigger for the next shot. Sadly, I did not have a functioning camera when I performed this modification.     I just picked up a MilTec MT-G3 milsim marker from Ebay and while checking it out found all sorts of marking on it that it was a prototype of some kind. I am not able to find much on the web about it. The markings refer to a Rex Ho. Does anyone know who this person is?     Okay, I’ll admit it publicly.  I am a nerd.  One of my missions when I came here to Peru was to find a Dungeons & Dragons book in Spanish for the sheer novelty value of it.  I also have a friend who owns a game store and he wanted me to scope out the inter-continental competition.  My friend Romy told me that she used to play similar games and that the place to go was called Game Zone, in a mall in Surco.  At long last, I set out to find the place, and was moderately disappointed.   Game Zone Game Zone did have Dungeons and Dragons stuff, but it was all old and in English.

    I noted with interest the other day when a local shop was refitted into a paintball supplies store. I hadn’t previously considered paintballing to have the commercial foundation that would result in a retail business. However, paintballing in Scotland is no doubt going strong and, obviously, there is a market for the various paintball equipment required for this highly-enjoyable activity.     Rooted in August of 2002, the Graffiti Paintball Team started as a five man team for tournaments in the Vlaamse Paintball League and other events organized by the same league. By November of the same year, they participated in Vosrt, Brussels for a paintball tournament that was held to promote the paintball sport in Belgium. When the following year of 2003 came, the Graffiti paintball team came up with a new captain in the name of Frank Bodart.     The Rogue Warriors is a scenario paintball team playing not just for recreation but for pride and practice of skills and strategy. They follow the strategies and teachings of Richard Marcinko who belongs to Seal Team Two, Seal Team Six and the Red Cell fame. The Rogue Warriors though do no claim to be as great as the Seals, but their goal is to strive to reach the same level of skill and expertise that makes the Seal Team considered as one of the best elite fighting paintball force around the globe.     The Clan paintball team was first named as The Cameronians way back in 1987 by Sandy Hubbard.  During the middle part of the 90s, the members of Cameronians found it hard to combine training and traveling all at once. Hence, this led them to paintball on hold for the meantime. A few years later, Paintball was revived in Scotland and the Cameronians came back to fight again in tournaments by year 1997 striving to once again be the best amongst UK competitors.     In year 2003, two famous paintball teams decided to unify: team FAD and team Sweet Anarchy. This unification let to the formation of a greater and more effective paintball team which is now called Team Supreme. The Team FAD, which was also known as Fast and Deadly was a consistent champion team since the year 2001. By year 2003, they wanted to expand their horizons and build up more of their roster to be able to divert their complete focus on paintball tournaments.
